RIMT University, Mandi Gobindgarh, Punjab, organized its 3rd National Conference on “Research, Innovation and Sustainable Development 2019” in which more than 200 researchers participated. Padam Bhushan Awrdee Dr S.S.Johl, Chancellor Central University was the Chief Guest .The eminent Speakers on the occasion included Hem Pande (IAS retired), P.S.Sodhi(Country Program Manager, UNDP), Antar Preet Singh (Director Digital Education, ISB)

Welcoming the delegates, Chancellor of RIMT University, Dr Hukam Chand Bansal emphasized on quality of education that RIMT University has been striving for and shall continue its effort in providing education to meet the aspirations of the society. Dr B.S.Bhatia, Pro Vice Chancellor and the Director of the seminar while unfolding the theme of the seminar focused on providing the platform for the research scholars to come together to share their research findings and achieve a productive industry academia interface for the benefit of the masses with innovations & sustainable development.

Dr S.S.Johl shared his words of wisdom about importance of sustainable development in today’s competitive business environment and support available from various government bodies for such innovative business models. He also explained the importance of a fair and just research methodology and the ways to improve the quality of research to be acceptable globally both in the academic and industrial spheres. Mr Hem Pande, P.S. Sodhi and  Mr Antarpreet Singh shared their views on different aspects of  environment and sustainable development

Dr. A S Chawla, Vice Chancellor in his presidential remarks expressed his concern over declining quality of research in the universities.  ‘Though monitoring agencies are taking steps to improve the quality of thesis produced in the universities, yet the action at the level of universities are far from desired. We at RIMT University shall not compromise with this aspect and ensure that research students do the best.”

Dr. Rajiv Kumar Maheshwary Dean School of Management thanked the guests, delegates and expressed hope that future events will continue to get the similar response. Six Technical sessions were held where 74 research papers were presented by authors who had come from diverse locations like New Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Bhopal etc.
