Rotary Club Rupnagar started third traffic awareness drive

In association with Traffic Police Rupnagar, Rotary Club Rupnagar today today started traffic awareness campaign from Police Lines crossing under project TARA – Traffic Awareness & Rotary Awareness. The campaign started by SP headquarter Rupnagar Arvind Kumar Meena, IPS. In this project, 1000 reflective stickers & 100 big size reflectors got installed with machine on the three, four wheelers, Buses, Trucks, Tractotor Trolleys & JCB Machines passing thru Rupnagar city at the bypass road. The traffic police in charge of Ropar District Sub Inspector Sarabjit Singh along with his staff assisted in the successful execution of the reflector installation.
Club President Rotarian Sudhir Sharma & Secretary Dr Ankur Wahi extended sincere thanks to the SSP Rupnagar under whose directions, traffic police wing of the Rupnagar Police department for their association in this project. They further told that about three thousand reflectors will be installed in the months of December & January.
Meena appreciated this initiative of Rotary Club Rupnagar & requested the club leadership to organize such project in the NangalSub division also. He assured complete assistance for this noble cause. The traffic police wing of Rupnagar also appreciated the Club & its members for organizing this project every year.
Chairman of this project Past President Dr JK Sharma told that their club has taken a big target in this year so that vehicular accidents in the foggy season can be avoided & precious human lives can be saved so far. He added that in three to four phase, this target will be completed by organizing more project in association with the officials of Solkhian toll Plaza. He also told that apart from these reflectors club will provide bands made of reflective tape for stray animals like cow & dogs etc so that night accidents can be minimized in the foggy season.
On this occasion, From Rotary Club side, Past Presidents Amar Raj Saini, Engineer Parminder Kumar, Kulwant Singh, Rotarian Parmod Sharma, Surjit Singh Sandhu, Engineer Tejapal Singh were present. From Traffic police wing ASI Didar Singh, ASI Sukhdev Singh, ASI Ajay Kumar, ASI Pawan Kumar, ASI Ranjit Singh, ASI MatwinderSingh, ASI Baljinder Singh, ASI Kamaljit Singh & ASI Balwant Singh were present.
