Famous Eye Surgeon of the area Rotarian Dr Namrita Parmar was installed as 45th President of Prestigious Rotary Club of Rupnagar. Director of Rotary International Prof. TN (Raju) Subramanian was Chief Guest of this event & he specially came from Bombay to attend this event.
Famous social activist Usha Saboo was guest of honor. Past Rotary International President Rajendra K Sabbu, populary known a Raja Saboo also attended this function. Program was organised in Hotel grand orchard with lightening of lamp as per traditions of the rotary. Immediate past president of Rotary club Rupnagar Engineer Parminder Kumar presented the projects done in the last rotary year which was appreciated by the chief guest & all present. After the exchange of presidents collar as per rotary traditions, Dr Namrita Parmar presented report of the projects completed in the month of July & would be done in the current Rotary year.
The new president also introduced her new team including Club Secretary Dr Antdeep Kaur, vice President Narinder Bhola, Director Community services Dr Bhim Sain, Director Vocational Services Dr JK Sharma, Director International Services Dr BPS Parmar, Director Youth Services Dr Usha Bhatia, Director Club Services Advocate D S Deol, Treasurer Gurpreet Singh, Sargent at arms Ajay Talwar & other members so far.
In his address, Chief Guest Rotarian T N Raju explained the world wide importance of Rotary, for being a member of any Rotary Club & wearing the lapel Pin of Rotary. He advised the new team for carrying out more & more projects for society with focus on safe drinking water & health checkups.
Dr Namrita in her address, described the legacy of their family where her father in law Dr R S Parmar & her husband Dr Bhanu Parmarwere presidents of this club in past.
Past District Governor & member of Rotary Club Roopnagar Advocate Chetan Aggarwal introduced Usha Saboo at this occasion. In her address Saboo applauded the services of Parmar family for society & advised Dr Namrita to carry out the tradition of social service in the area. Past Rotary International Rajendera K sabooalso spoke at this occasion & advised the new team for adopt the tradition of Service above self. The incoming District Governor of Rotary District 3080 Rotarian Rajpal Singh also addressed the audience & nominated past President Dr Bhim as assistant Governor of this zone for the next Rotary year.
At this occasion, a cheque of Rs 12 lakhs was presented to the Chief Guest for rotary Foundation which is called backbone of the rotary in carrying out all community projects worldwide. All individuals & Rotary members, who generously contributed for Rotary foundation, got honored from the chief guest. At this occasion, four new members also got inducted as members of Rotary Club Roopnagar namely Sukhwinder Singh, Dr Manpreet Kaur, Ashok Chadha & Rajinder Singh Parmar, all from Ropar City.
As the Girl Child Empowerment is one of the key focus area of this year’s Rotary activities, two girs, who brought laurels to the Ropnagarnamely Sanvi Sood & Gazal Singh also got honored with citations from the chief guest at this occasion.

Majority of the club members were also present at this gala event & congratulated the new president & her team so far.
