On August 20, 2024 News Portal royalpatiala.in had highlighted the hardship being faced by the patient attendants, students, nursing staff after an absurd order passed by the Govt Rajindra Hospital authorities, closing the side gates of the hospital at 6:00 pm, which were earlier remained opened for 24 hours.
Today, the hospital authorities has extended the time from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, after the problems were highlighted in these columns. Now, the side gates will open at 7:00 in the morning and will be closed by 8:00 in the evening.
Earlier, today the side gates were closed at 6:00 pm. But the same were again opened at 6:30 pm and closed at 8:00 pm
When contacted the medical superintendent of the Govt Rajindra Hospital Dr Girish Sahni he confirmed that “now, all the side gates will be closed by 8:00 pm”. He further added that “we will try to extend the timings in coming days, once the more security staff is being added in the current team”.
royalpatiala.in had highlighted that how the hardship, problem is being faced by attendants of patients of cardiology, neurology, gynecology, pediatrics and students, nursing staff as these departments and nursing hostel are opposite the gate on Jagdish Ashram Road or Dr Jagdish Singh Marg. With the early closure of side gates at 6:00 pm the nursing staff, doctors, students living in nearby PGs were forced to go to Sangrur road and then came to their place of working, duty which is just opposite their hostel, PG accommodations. The shift of nursing staff changes at 7-8 pm and the side gates were closed at 6:00 pm.
