Punjab government’s coffers are increasing on monthly basis due to the state government policies and diligently working of its women officers working in state taxation department.
Jaspreet Talwar, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary cum Financial Commissioner (Taxation), Punjab is heading the key department.
Under her command many women officers are heading the key divisions, district offices of Punjab State Taxation Department.
Even the key wing of department’s investigation has a woman officer Rajwinder Kaur, Joint Director (investigation cum-Deputy Commissioner state Bathinda).
The department has seven divisions. Out of these seven , five divisions are headed by women officers as divisional commissioner state taxation (DCST) .
Darvir Raj DCST Jalandhar, Rajwinder Kaur DCST, Amritsar, Ramanpreet kaur DCST,Patiala, Harsimrat Kaur DCST,Ropar, Randhir Kaur Gill DCST,Ludhiana.
Similarly, Jalandhar division has four women officer out of six posted as assistant commissioner state taxation (ACST) .
In Amritsar division three out of five assistant commissioner state taxation (ACST) are women officers.
In Patiala division, two out of three assistant commissioner state taxation (ACST) are women officers.
In Ropar division, one out of two assistant commissioner state taxation (ACST) is a woman officer.
In Ludhiana division , three out of six assistant commissioner state taxation (ACST) are women officers.
In Ferozepur division, one out four assistant commissioner state taxation (ACST) are women officers. In this division two officers-one woman and male officer are holding additional charge of two districts.
In Faridkot division, one out of three assistant commissioner state taxation (ACST) is woman officer. In this division the woman officer holds the additional charge of two districts.
The state government has launched State Intelligence and Preventive Unit (SIPU), a special wing of the state taxation department in April 2023. Out of five, one woman officer of ACST rank is holding the charge at Patiala.
