Sahit Sabha of Govt. Bikram College of Commerce organised program dedicated to Punjabi Mah

The Punjabi Department and Sahit Sabha of Govt. Bikram College of Commerce, Patiala organized a program dedicated to “Punjabi Mah” in the college under the guidance of College Principal, Prof. (Dr.) Kusum lata. The program was according to the instructions by the Govt. of Punjab in order to promote awareness about the importance of Punjabi Language, Punjabi Literature and Linguistics. Various competitions like poetry recitation and poster making were held.

Rajinder Kaur (B.Com-1), Arshmeet Singh Arora (B.Com-1) and Jasmine Kaur (B.Com-2) bagged 1st, 2nd and 3rd position respectively in poetry recitation. In poster making competition, Anjali (B.Com-2) got 1st position and Reetu (B.Com-2) secured 2nd position. Gurneet Kaur of B.Com-1 presented her views on importance of Language and spread the message to love our mother tongue through her speech in a very effective manner. Dr. Amrinder Kaur and Dr. Ravinder Kumar of Punjabi Dept. organized this program. Such programs are the need of the hour to preserve the beautiful language for the generations to come. About 150 students participated in the program. The others present were Dr. Vaneeta Rani, Dr. Paramjit Kaur and Jasmeen Kaur.
