Seminar by Legal Services at SSD School,Bathinda
As per the directions of National Legal Services Authority, New Delhi and Punjab State Legal Services Authority, SAS Nagar, Mohali, under the aegis of Paramjeet Singh, Ld. District & Sessions Judge-cum-Chairman, District Legal Services Authority, Bathinda, Dr. Mandeep Mittal, District Legal Services Authority, Bathinda held a seminar at Shri Sanatan Dharm Public High School, Bathinda and Lalit Garg, Advocate, The President and all staff were present. The Secretary, District Legal Services Authority gave information about the rights of students, rights of women, Various schemes of District Legal Services Authority, Lok Adalat, Permanent Lok Adalats, Mediation Centre, registered skilled labour and 357-A Cr.P.C. Besides this Secretary, District Legal Services Authority asked general knowledge questions from students and students replied with great joy.
The Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, Bathinda also made the students aware about protection of the environment and encourage them for plantation so that earth can be saved from pollution, flood, drought and other natural calamities.
The Secretary also asked to the students to identify the specially -abled persons who need artificial limb or, tri-cycle, hearing kits etc. The students were informed about the beneficial schemes particularly eligible the needs for issuance of Labour Cards to the Construction and allied workers. The students were asked spread the message all around.
The Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, Bathinda told that ADR Centre was established at District Courts, Bathinda, and that any women, Scheduled caste, Industrial Labour, Children, Handicapped, Convicts, Mentally retarded and general category people whose annual income is below 3,00,000/-, can avail services of an advocate free of cost. The toll free number of Punjab Legal Services Authority, S.A.S. Nagar (Mohali) is 1968 where anyone can get guidance/advice of his legal rights.
Besides this, the students were made aware about the new Schedule of National Lok Adalat which is to be held on 10 February 2018 and they were encouraged to make the litigants aware about the days of National Lok Adalats so that the people can taken maximum benefits out of the Lok Adalats.
