Set up Commission for welfare of Gen category-Fedration

Patiala-Federation told that dreams of freedom-fighters have not been fulfilled yet for which they have sacrificed their lives. Poor people do not get their rights yet. Shayam Lal Sharma informed that, Caste-based reservation is continuing for the past 68 years and poor people did not get benefit of it, but certain affluent people are getting its benefit again and again.

Due to vote bank, no political party is willing to review reservation policy. Supreme Court of India in its decision dated 19.10.2016 in case titled M Nagaraja while laying certain conditions has observed that benefit of reservation should not be allowed to creamy layer, but in-spite of lapses of about 12 years period, its benefit is being allowed to rich people of reserved categories from generation to generation and same may be stopped immediately. Since poverty has no caste and there are poorest peoples of general categories/backward classes in the society, to whom benefit of Govt. policies and promotions are not admissible.

Jaswant Singh Dhaliwal State President demanded that decision of Punjab & Haryana High Court in CWP No. 16039 of 2014, vide which reservation in promotion has been stopped, should be implemented immediately. All people become equal upon joining a job, so allowing reservation in promotions is un-justified.

Sukhpreet Singh Secretary General of PSEB Unit said that a State Commission for welfare of General Categories, Welfare Committee of MLAs should be established and till date such provision is not made, the Commission/Committees established for reserved categories should be disbanded in order to bring equality.
