Saragarhi day observed at Police DAV public school Patiala

To commemorate the brave battle of Saragarhi , students of Police DAV Public School Patiala paid homage to the courageous martyrs of the Sikh regiment of Indian British Army during an online assembly today. 21soldiers of the Sikh regiment fought to death with the Afghan tribesmen in what is known to be one of the major laststands in world history. Rina and Kimanpreet Kaur of class 8 delivered speeches highlighting the importance of the day. Ekampreet Kaur and Manpreet Kaur of class 7 recited poems on the heroic deeds of the brave martyrs. A two minute silence was observed as a mark of respect to the gallant soldiers.
Police DAV Public School Patiala aims at imparting knowledge using online platform. So, the students were shown the movie on the battle of Saragarhi to impart visual experience. The students were full of enthusiasm and raised slogans in praise of the motherland .
On this occasion the school principal MeenaThapar motivated the students to be brave in facing the odd circumstances and be determined to reach the goal. She further added that such days remind us of our rich history and future generations must learn from them.
