Sexual harassment takes Deputy Secretary job in Punjab

Taking action on the complaint of sexual harassment, the Punjab Government forcibly retired the Deputy Secretary Krishan Kumar Singla from government service.
Disclosing this here today an official spokesperson said that this officer was posted in the Punjab Civil Secretariat as Deputy Secretary (on probation). After completing 58 years of age, as per the instructions of the government, his tenure was extended from 01.09.2019.
A complaint of sexual harassment was lodged against the officer by a female senior assistant who posted under him. Acting on the seriousness of the allegations made by the employee against the officer, the Secretariat administration referred the matter to the Internal Complaint Committee Against Sexual Harassment of Women for investigation.
The spokesperson further said that this committee submitted a report to the Secretariat Administration on March 3, 2020 in which the allegations made by the concerned woman senior assistant against Krishan Kumar Singla, Deputy Secretary (under probation) were substantiated. Taking serious note of the report submitted, the Chief Minister, Punjab directed that the officer should be forcibly retired from his post with immediate effect. Acting on the orders, the Secretariat Administration today forcibly retired the Deputy Secretary Krishan Kumar Singla.
