SHO gets CM Rakshak Padak for saving many lives

Punjab government today announced the recipient of “Chief Minister Rakshak Padak” and 15 others for “Chief Minister Medal for Outstanding Devotion To Duty”, on the occasion of 74th Independence Day, who have displayed consistently excellent level of performance in duty.

Out of 16 recipients, 6 police officials belong to Amritsar Police. This year the state level Independence Day will be at Amritsar, as the Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh will hoist the National Flag at Amritsar.

The lone recipient of Chief Minister Rakshak Padak is Sub Inspector Jasveer Singh, who is posted as SHO, City-2, Malerkotla. He got this medal for showing exemplary courage in saving the lives of children and ladies.

SI Jasveer Singh said,” around a month ago a fire broke out in a tent house at Bhumsi village, near Malerkotla city. Acting swiftly, I along with my team reached their and save the children and ladies stuck in the fire. Later, on the same day, we arrested 9 miscreants allegedly responsible for the incident and lodged a FIR against them.
