Shoot For Legal Awareness-short film by DLSA Bathinda

Dr. Mandeep Mittal, CJM/Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, Bathinda said that under the guidance of Punjab State Legal Services Authority, SAS Nagar, Mohali, “ A Shoot For Legal Awareness” in the form of short film is being prepared on the activities of District Legal Services Authority, Bathinda. The short film will be sent to the State Legal Services Authority, for participation in a Festival.

The purpose of the festival is to encourage creative thought process for generating effective audio visual contents for legal awareness that in turn will reach to the common masses and contribute in enhancing the understanding of laws, rights and legal provisions for betterment of the society at large. It is apparent that the festival would be highly instrumental in accomplishing the goal of large legal awareness.

Shoot For Legal Awareness-short film by DLSA Bathinda

Satpal Singh Brar, the film director from Bathinda is taking all pain to shoot the film and to bring legal awareness amongst people particularly regarding the activities of legal aid in Bathinda. The film has been sponsored by Adesh Hospital, Bathinda. On this occasion, the Secretary District legal Services Authority, Bathinda informed the general public about the rights of students, rights of women, Various schemes of District Legal Services Authority, Lok Adalat, Permanent Lok Adalats, Mediation Centre, registered skilled labour and 357-A Cr.P.C.

The Secretary also narrated the fundamental duties as are there in the Constitution of India and also asked them if they have been continually doing atleast one national duty like protection of environment, development of scientific tempura. It was stated by the Secretary that everybody is bothered about his rights but none is ready to perform his duty. That is why the counties like China and Japan surpassed our country in terms of development as well as quality of life.

The Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, Bathinda told that ADR Centre was established at District Courts, Bathinda, and that any women, Scheduled caste, Industrial Labour, Children, Handicapped, Convicts, Mentally retarded and general category people whose annual income is below 3,00,000/-, can avail services of an advocate free of cost. The toll free number of Punjab Legal Services Authority, S.A.S. Nagar (Mohali) is 1968 where anyone can get guidance/advice of his legal rights.
