Show cause notice issued to Samana Congress MLA

Samana constituency returning officer has issued show cause  notice to sitting congress MLA and expected candidate from the constituency Rajinder Singh for allegedly violating the model code of conduct and guidelines of the election commission of India regarding conduct of general elections during Covid.

In the notice the returning officer said that he had come to know that he (Rajinder Singh, MLA) had been violating the guidelines and he had arranged a large gathering of people at village Badanpur, village Rajla and also arranged gathering of people in excess of the limit allowed by the election commissioner at these places. By doing this he had violated the model code of conduct, the returning officer said.

He directed Rajinder Singh to submit his explanation with 24 hours of receiving the notice failing which action would be taken against him as per rules for violating Covid guidelines and model code of conduct.
