Sidhu Moosewala to face the music for threatening the fourth pillar of democracy-Patiala Media Club

Members of the Patiala Media Club on Monday filed a complaint with Patiala Police against controversial Punjab singer Shubhdeep Singh popularly known as Sidhu Moosewala for using highly rude language against the journalist fraternity and for allegedly threatening the media for writing against him.
Taking a notice at its own Patiala Media Club under its president Gurpreet Singh Chatha, who along with several members of the club met the SSP Patiala at his office and handed over a written complaint , urging him to file a FIR against Shubhdeep Singh alias Sidhu Moosewala for disgracing the fourth pillar of democracy.
After receiving the complaint Patiala senior superintendent of police (SSP) Mandeep Singh Sidhu, assured that he will look into the complaint and do a thorough investigation into the case.
In a recent live video on social media, that went viral, “the singer has even asked his supporters to thrash mediapersons. He even took names of some media houses and said that he is least bothered about writings and news against him. He has used highly disrespectful language against the media fraternity and said that they should be cautious in future if they write or air any news against him.” He further threatened that “if done so, they will face the consequences.”
Patiala Media Club urged the SSP to appoint a senior level officer as investigation officer in the case and act as per law against the singer for allegedly issuing threats to the media.
“I will certainly look into the matter,” said the SSP, after receiving the written complaint.
Dr Manish Sarhandi of PMC said” press is doing its job and its unfortunate that Sidhu Moosewala is threatening us for doing our job”.
