Until September 17,2021 both former Capt Amarinder Singh and PPCC President Navjot Singh Sidhu were boon for Congress party. The party high command is expecting a comeback in 2022 with thumping margin. Both Capt Amarainder Singh and Navjot Singh Sidhu were assets of Congress, till September 17, 2021.

But suddenly a tweet by Punjab incharge Harish Rawat on early September 18, 2021,changes the whole scenario in the poll bound state. In just ten days both leaders became liability for the congress party?

Cricketer-turned-politician Navjot Singh Sidhu in 2017 joined the Congress after meeting Rahul Gandhi and the party said it would be “immensely strengthened” in poll-bound Punjab with his presence.

Under the command of Capt Amarinder Singh and Navjot Singh Sidhu, who join Congress few days before the assembly elections in Punjab, Congress snatched Punjab from shiromani akali dal BJP led govt, who ruled the state for ten years and established their stable government in the state.

In 2019 parliamentary elections, Congress won 52 seats in pan India. But in Punjab they won 8 out of 13 seats under the command of Capt Amarinder Singh and with the support of Navjot Singh Sidhu.

But, from the last 10-12 days, it seems that both Capt Amarinder Singh and Navjot Singh Sidhu, brand ambassadors of Congress in Pan India, suddenly became bane for congress.

Today former Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh on Thursday made it clear he was not joining the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) but had no intention of continuing in the Congress, which he said was going downhill with senior leaders completely ignored and not given a voice.

“Yes, there’s no space for anger in politics. But is there space for humiliation & insult in a grand old party like @INCIndia? If a senior party leader like me can be treated like this, I wonder what the workers must go through!” Singh said in a tweet posted by his media adviser Raveen Thukral, after Capt submitted his resignation.

After staying Punjab Congress president for two months and one week, Navjot Singh Sidhu resigned from the post on Tuesday. Navjot Singh Sidhu’s resignation as Punjab Congress Chief has plunged the party into a deep crisis just four months before polls. Sidhu was angry about new Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi’s cabinet decisions and found himself overruled.

Rumors were there that Congress is planning to sack both Capt and Sidhu for their anti party activities. But suddenly the party high command realize that after their expulsion, will Congress will be able to keep Punjab under its command?

Today Rahul Gandhi deputed Ambika Soni ,Kamal Nath to pursue Capt Amarinder Singh and asked Channi to handle Sidhu at their own level.
