Sikh Jathas to Pakistan-Punjab Government to appoint liaison officer and observers; seeks applications

The Punjab Government has sought applications from senior assistants or senior officers working in all departments for appointment of liaison officers and observers with the jathas which will be going on various events in Pakistan.

Disclosing this here today, a Spokesperson of the Punjab Government said that the state government may send Jatha’s of Sikh / Sahajdhari Sikh pilgrims to Pakistan on various occasion like  Baisakhi, Martyrdom Day of Shri Guru Arjan Dev ji, Death anniversary of Maharaja Ranjit Singh ji and Gurpurab of Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji.

Liaison officers and Observers are appointed to accompany these Jathas.  The spokesperson further stated that those who are holding the post of senior assistant or above post are eligible to be Liaison Officer and Observers.

The officers / officials who are willing to go to Pakistan as a Liaison Officer and observers with these jatha’s, may apply through the head of their department at the General Administration Department, Punjab Civil Secretariat, Chandigarh till 31-12-19.  Application received after this date will not be accepted.  He also said that the head of the department should certify that no criminal / department action against the applicant is pending.

The spokesperson further said that the applications of those officers / official for the Liaison Officer and Observers will be considered for who had not been appointed as liaison officer and observers with the jathas in the last five years.
