Sirhind to be folk capital of Punjab for one week; week long sirhind craft mela to begin

Sirhind city- a city on Amritsar-Delhi national highway is going to be the folk capital of Punjab for one week starting from March,7,2020 till March 15,2020.
Fatehgarh Sahib District administration is going to organize Sirhind Craft Mela at a heritage site of mughal era- Aam Khas Bagh, Sirhind where craftsman from pan India will display their artifacts.
Deputy commissioner Fatehgarh Sahib Amrit Kaur Gill said “ on March 7, 2020 Sirhind craft mela will be formally inaugurated by a dignitary at 7:00 pm and folk singer Sukhi Brar will perform live at the inaugural function from 7: 30 pm onwards.”
On march,8 a music performance of singer Gurkipal Soorapuri will enthrall the audience, at 7:30 pm onwards.
On March, 9, folk artists will give cultural performances at 7:00 pm onwards.
On March 10, sufi singer Zorawat will gave a musical performance at 7:30 pm onwards
On March 11, 12 folk artists will give cultural performances at 7:30 pm onwards.
On March 13 Punjabi singer Tarsem Jassar will give live performance from the stage of Aam Khas Bagh from 7:30 PM onwards.
Jaspreet Singh, ADC (G) Fatehgarh Sahib , who is the nodal officer of this craft mela further elaborated about the events of Sirhind Craft Mela said “that a Vintage car rally will add colour to this craft mela. In this vintage car rally, cars from pre independence and post independence era will participate from 11:00 am onwards and would pass through Khuamanno, Bassi Pathana and Fatehgarh sahib, in a convoy” . He further said that a live performance by Punjabi singer Kulwinder Billa will impress the audience with his singing.
On the culmination day of the Sirhind craft mela , performance by Satinder Sartaj will add colour to this maiden event orgainsed by the district administration.
He further informed that the entry is free for all the cultural events except for Satinder Sartaj night. An entry ticket of Rs 20 is kept for craft mela.
Jaspreet Singh Assistant commissioner-cum-coordinator of the mela asked the residents of Fathegarh sahib district and of surrounding districts to come at Sirhind craft mela and have a glimpse on mini India created by craftsman from pan India.
