Skipping orientation workshop proves costly for Punjab officers; 16 get show cause notice on minister’s direction

Taking serious note for remaining absent during one-day orientation workshop, Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains has given directions to issue show-cause notice to the absentee officers.
Disliking this here, an official spokesperson said that on the directives of Harjot Singh Bains, show cause notice has been issued to District Education Officer (Secondary Education) & (Elementary Education), DIET Principal, B.P.E.O. and the district coordinator.
Pertinently, the Punjab government organized one-day orientation workshop on February 17, 2023 at the Punjab School Education Board auditorium to increase enrollment in government schools in the state during the new academic session. The authority concerned has issued show-cause notice to the District Education Officer (Secondary Education) Sri Muktsar Sahib, Fazilka, Amritsar, Barnala, Mansa, District Education Officer (Elementary) Sri Fatehgarh Sahib, Mansa and Sangrur for being absent from the workshop. These officers remained absent without getting any prior permission of competent authority.
Similarly show cause notice has also been issued to Principal DIET Fazilka, Moga, Bathinda, Gurdaspur, Kapurthala, Ludhiana, Jalandhar and Sangrur, and to some BPEOs and BMT on the count of absent.
