Rayat-Bahra Patiala Campus students of Civil Engineering Department have designed a model of Smart City Project Model with a national vision following the mission of our Prime Minister Narinder Modi to fulfill the dreams of people of India by designing and creating structures and mechanisms in a structured way. This model comprises of the application of the various civil engineering notions. The main objective of this model is to deal with the big challenges by providing modern infrastructure based on sustainable construction and development for rapidly growing human population in this era of high-tech civil technology.

The model comprises of four sections depicting buildings-tall , safe , secure and comfortable to deal with various kinds of businesses and services to humanity in the world.

Smart City Project Model made by Rayat-Bahra Students being viewed by the Chairman

Keeping in mind the present scenario of increasing population of India, students have designed a map plan of Smart City with intelligent and pollution free transport system with an objective of saving time and energy of human kind. It includes sky- high buildings with various detective sensors and temperature control systems.  The smart city is also provided with multi amenities like surveillance cameras, global positioning systems, traffic control devices , theft control devices and privacy concerns. It is also occupied with Intelligent Transport System (ITS)  which is helpful in minimizing the number of accidents in a particular area and also helpful in providing the information about the accident, over speed and theft of vehicles.

Connected with it the airport building shows brilliant multiple properties. The carriage way provided in the model is totally sound free and pollution free leaving no space of any kind of pollutants in the atmosphere. All the adjoining buildings at the airport are accompanied with solar panels to provide 24hrs electricity to the airport necessities and requirements. All the authorities, staff, passengers and visitors can enjoy congenial and comfortable stay at airport infrastructure.

Hydro Power plant is associated and connected with this model with the objective to transfer and supply the electricity to the airport and other buildings and towers of the Smart City. The Hydro Power Plant will generate power of  990 MW without polluting the environment. It will be economical and  cut the cost of wiring system being fully independent equipped with latest electrical machinery systems.

Multistorey buildings are also erected in the model with a purpose of convenience of the visitors businessman and tourists-national, international providing all facets and facilities for their comfortable stay. The structure and style of these buildings will be economical based on the theory of steel  structure elements , sound proof, heat proof, seismic proof , less area consumption and anti corrosive.

The brain of the students behind this Smart City Project are Rupinder Singh, Gurinder Singh, Jasbir Singh and Jatindervir Singh of final year Civil Engineering.

Chairman Gurvinder Singh Bahra congratulated the team members and appreciated their effort of designing this Smart City Model which is the deemed project of our national leader . He said India will achieve a lot with students’ innovated ideas and efforts put in action with their great enthusiasm and energy exerted in these type of projects.

Campus Director, Dr. Piush Verma  motivated the students and exhorted them to go in for more of the inventions like this. He encouraged the students and said that they are contributing towards a healthy and green climate also. He also said that students are the big hopes to place India on the top of the countries where every day starts with innovative trends and trades to lead a contented life. He congratulated HOD Civil ,Er. Amrinder Singh Waraich for this innovative projec
