Sports dept to hold tournaments from Oct 8 onwards-DC

The Deputy Commissioner Bathinda Praneet today stated that under Mission Tandarust Punjab, the sports department has issued district tournaments schedule for the year 2018-19. The main aim of it is to incline students towards sports activities.

Giving further information District Sports Officer Vijay Kumar stated that participants can send entries for registration only through e mail on the id [email protected]. No other form of summary sheets or registrations will be accepted. The summary sheets should mention following details Name of player, father’s name, date of birth, address and telephone number, category (general or SC) and Aadhar card number. Any change in dates of tournaments will be intimated through newspapers.

He added that district level u 14 (boys and girls) will be held from Oct 8 to Oct 10, under 18 (boys and girls) will be held from oct 16 to Oct 18 and district level competitions (boys and girls) will be held from Oct 26 to Oct 28, 2018. The participants on these games should be born on or after 01-01-2005, under 18 should be born on or after 01-01-2001 and under 25 should be born on or after 01-01-1994. Position holders will be awarded with certificates.

Athletics, boxing, volleyball, football, kabaddi (national style), judo, wrestling and kho-kho tourneys will be held at Multipurpose Stadium Bathinda. Similarly, at Hockey Turf Stadium Bathinda tourneys for hockey will be held. At Khalsa Senior Seocndary School Bathinda basketball compeitions will be held, at St Xavier’s School handball competitions will be held, at Police Public School gymnastics competitions will be held, at MSD School badminton and table tennis compeitions will  be held, at Krishna Vatika School roller skating contests will be held and at Kanwar Bheem Akhara Bathinda weightlifting (only under 18 and under 25) will be held.
