Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University organises awareness talk on Tobacco-Free Youth Campaign

The NSS Unit of the Faculty of Basic and Applied Sciences at Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University, Fatehgarh Sahib, organized an impactful resource talk under the Tobacco-Free Youth Campaign.

The session featured Dr. Manpreet Kaur, Medical Officer at Civil Hospital, Fatehgarh Sahib, who addressed the students on the theme “Say No to Tobacco, Say Yes to a Healthier Life.” 

Dr. Kaur highlighted the harmful effects of tobacco consumption, its long-term impact on physical and mental health, and the importance of making informed lifestyle choices. She encouraged students to spread awareness and contribute to building a healthier, tobacco-free society.

The event was coordinated by Dr. Monika Airi, Programme Officer, NSS, who ensured smooth organization and enthusiastic student participation. Dr. Harneet Billing, Programme Coordinator, NSS, delivered words of motivation, inspiring students to adopt healthy habits and participate actively in community welfare initiatives.

Prof. (Dr.) Prit Pal Singh, Vice Chancellor, and Prof. (Dr.) Sukhwinder Singh Billing, Dean Academic Affairs, conveyed special messages reaffirming the University’s commitment to promoting health, well-being, and social responsibility among students.

They appreciated the efforts of the NSS Unit in conducting meaningful activities that contribute to youth awareness and personality development. The event witnessed active participation by NSS volunteers and faculty members, making it a significant step toward fostering a health-conscious and responsible campus environment.
