SSD Girls’ College Bathinda organized Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on Entrepreneurship and Startups

SSD Girls’ College Bathinda, organized AICTE Training and Learning (ATAL) sponsored Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on Entrepreneurship and Startups from 15th to 20th  June, 2025.

The FDP was inaugurated with formal lamp-lightening ceremony, followed by formal welcome of the Chief Guest, Amit Madaan (Co-Founder & CEO- A Square Media), Chairman-IBSE. In his inaugural address,  Amit Madaan talked about the opportunities available to the students and the research scholars. The first technical session was held by  Amit Madaan and the second one by Dr. Vikasdeep (Department of Business Studies, Punjabi University Guru Kashi Campus, Talwandi Sabo).

The second day (16th June 2025) of ATAL sponsored FDP  focused on Intellectual Property Rights and on Women Entrepreneurship. The keynote speaker of the first session was Dr. Manish Gupta (Head, School of Entrepreneurship, Baba Farid Group of Institutions, Bathinda) who enlightened the attendees of the FDP with his insightful knowledge on Intellectual Property Rights and IP management for Startups. The second session was chaired by Neeru Bansal (Owner, Shagun Creations) who shared her valuable and innovative thoughts on Women Entrepreneurship in India and abroad. Hands-on Training Session was also there which includes Gift Wrapping and Basket Decoration

The third day included an industrial visit to Bathinda Chemical Ltd. (BCL), Sangat Technical experts from BCL provided the insights about the process of grain distillation (fermentation, addition of enzymes and chemicals to the process) and alcohol separation at the final step. After visit, technical session was chaired by Lalit Sachdeva on the topic “Leadership to be a Successful Entrepreneur.”

The fourth day focused on the Role of HEIs in Entrepreneurship, Startups and Skill Development in young youth. The keynote speaker of the first session, Prof. Monisha Dhiman (Convener, IIC, CUP), enlightened the attendees of the FDP with her insightful knowledge on the Role of HEIs in Entrepreneurship and Startups. The second session was chaired by National Awardee  Paramjeet Singh (Director, Regional Center for Entrepreneurship Development, Chandigarh) and Sarabjeet Singh (Additional director, industries, Government of Punjab) who shared their valuable knowledge about government initiatives in Entrepreneurship and skill development.

The fifth day focused on the Startup Ecosystems and Financial Education. The keynote speaker of the first session was Satyendra S. Choudhary (CEO, i-RISE, TBI IISER Mohali). He enlightened the attendees of the FDP with his insightful knowledge about government initiatives in Startups and Incubation. The second session was chaired by Dr. Ishwar Mittal (MDU, Rohtak) who shared an insight into the role of financial education in young entrepreneurs.

The sixth day ie. Concluding day of this FDP focused on legal requirements to establish a new industrial unit. Keynote speaker of the technical session was Amit Bansal (Chartered Accountant).He explained about the legal requirements, tax exemptions and other attributes related with business and industry.  Besides these 10 technical sessions, daily participants discussed the research articles related to entrepreneurship and startups. All the participants were assigned a project for that they attended practical work in the lab.

After that all the participants appeared for exam based on the knowledge gained in 6 days followed by presentations on research articles. The FDP concluded with a valedictory session.  Vikas Garg (General Secretry SSD Girls, College),  Aushotosh Sharma Sectretary SSD WIT and  Sandeep Gupta CA (Secretary Finance SSD Girls College) graced the occasion with their benign presence. Dr. Neeru Garg (Principal) welcomed all the dignitaries and congratulated FDP coordinator Dr. Anju Garg & her team for successful completion of FDP. She applauded the participants for their enthusiastic participation. FDP coordinator Dr. Anju Garg presented brief report of six days FDP.

Participants from Central University of Punjab, Guru Kashi University, Govt. College Husnar and Mata Sundri Girls’ College Dhade shared their great experiences about FDP and applauded the hospitality offered to them by the college. Valedictory session of FDP concluded with vote of thanks by FDP Co-coordinator Ms. Rekha Rani.
