SSP Patiala forms 3 member SIT to probe arrest charges against Ravneet Bittu’s close aide

Senior superintendent of police (SSP), Patiala Nanak Singh has formed a three member special investigation team (SIT) to investigate the allegation of false FIR being lodged against Rajesh Attri, a close aide of Union State Minister of Railways and BJP leader Ravneet Bittu.
As per information, the three member special investigation team (SIT) will consist of DSPs Rajesh Chibber, Achru Ram and inspector Bajwa.
“The three members SIT will thoroughly investigate the allegations leveled by the family of Rajesh Attri” confirmed the SSP Patiala Nanak Singh. When asked about “any time limit is fixed in which the SIT will have to submit its report, SSP said “no time period is fixed to investigate the matter.’
Ravneet Bittu, local BJP leadership, family, friends of Rajesh Attri has strongly condemned the flimsy and politically motivated arrest of BJP worker Rajesh Attri from Patiala. They had lodged their protest with the police about the false SC/ST Act case was registered against him.
Earlier, Patiala police has lodged an FIR at Lahori Gate police station, Patiala under section 3(2) (v) of SC AND THE ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act , 1989 on the complaint of a Lahori Gate resident Ishu without investigating the complaint against Rajesh Attri.
SSP Patiala forms 3 member SIT to probe arrest charges against Ravneet Bittu’s close aide. As per family members, the FIR was lodged at 9:36 am on February 10,2025, whereas the “Patiala police in civvies came in the morning and takes away Rajesh Attri from his residence at 9:00 am”.
As per the FIR, “the complainant Ishu, a daily wager along with his friends Vishu, Amarpreet were going towards bus stand, Patiala on the night of February 9,2025. At 10:30 when the trio reached at SDKS Bhawan Chowk, Ishu dialed a Whatasapp call number to his relative. But he wrongly dialed Rajesh Attri’s number. After receiving a whataspp call from an unknown number,Rajesh enquired about the person’s identity. When Ishu, the complainant revealed his name, address to Rajesh Attri, Attri used casteist remarks before disconnecting the phone. Than Ishu and his friends checked the number on True Caller and found it is registered in the name of Rajesh Attri. After this he lodged a complaint with the lahori gate police station.
As per the FIR, a complaint is received at 09:09 hrs on February 10,2025 at Lahori Gate police station. Acting swiftly on the complaint of a daily wager Ishu, Patiala police wasting no time, lodges’ complaint, (whose complete address is not given in the FIR), immidiately picked up Rajesh Attri, a close aide of Ravneet Bittu from his residence.
Ravneet Bittu had shared the information of Rajesh Attri’s arrest on his social media account on February 10,2025. He accused the state government of continuing its vendetta politics and misusing Punjab Police to suppress BJP workers.
