State level science quiz organised at World University

Department of Biotechnology of Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University, Fatehgarh Sahib organised a state level science quiz. The quiz was organised to highlight the importance of science in daily life of human beings. The quiz was started with insights about the role of science in our daily lives. The event was inaugurated by the Vice Chancellor of University, Dr. Prit Pal Singh. During his address, Dr. Singh stressed upon the benefits of conducting such events at school level and college level. He also talked about the fact that science holds the potential of changing the world. He gave a number of examples to prove his points.
There were 18 schools from Amloh, Ropar, Patiala, Fatehgarh, Mohali and Mandi Gobindgarh which participated in the event. The quiz was divided into 3 levels. There were cash prizes for the winning teams. The first prize holder was Budha Dal Public School, Patiala. Scholar Fields Public School, Patiala won the second prize and the third prize was grabbed by Multipurpose Govt. Sen. Sec. School, Patiala. Prof. C. Rajesh, Head, Department of Biotechnology, expressed gratitude for the Vice Chancellor for guidance and his enthusiastic nature towards conducting such events. He congratulated the participants and the faculty members who had put up lots of efforts in making this event a success.
