Students of Rajiv Gandhi Law University penalized for indiscipline

An anti ragging committee of Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law was held on Monday in the Conference Hall, Administrative Block of RGNUL, Patiala at the beginning of the new academic session. It was attended by the members of the anti ragging committee. The meeting was chaired by the registrar of the university Prof (Dr) Naresh Kumar vats. The committee include the nominated members of staff, students representatives, district administration, non teaching staff, representatives from media etc.
One case pertaining to the incident which happened in the boys Hostel was placed before the anti ragging committee apprehending as if it was a case of Ragging. After going through the facts, perusal and deliberation, the members were of the view that it is a matter of serious indiscipline in the hostel, as some seniors called the juniors in their hostel rooms. It was not established the ragging point. On the recommendations of the Anti— Ragging Committee the University has taken an immediate action and initiated disciplinary action against defaulters as per the University Regulations. Members of the anti ragging committee recommended the imposition of fine, the students will do community service in the library for fifteen days, the authorities will issue a strict warning and their parents will be called.
