Sukhbir’s ‘Punjab Bachao Yatra’ gets jolt; party leader joins saffron party

Today, Gurpreet Singh Maluka and Parampal Kaur Sidhu, son and daughter-in-law of Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader and ex-minister Sikander Singh Maluka, joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) at party’s head office at New Delhi.
Parampal Kaur, who recently put in her papers as a Punjab cadre IAS officer, is likely to contest from Bathinda against MP Harsimrat Kaur Badal.
“Nothing is permanent in politics. Nowadays leaders are opportunists. Buts it’s a personal setback for SAD party. On one side shiromani akali dal president Sukhbir Singh Badal is organizing ‘Punjab Bacaho Yatra’ and on other hand his own party leaders are deserting him and joins BJP in this hour of crises” said Nirmal Singh, a SAD supporter.
