Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau dodged the question when asked by Canadian reporters to comment on India’s action of suspending visa services. A reporter asked PM Trudeau “India has suspended the visa services in Canada for Canadian citizens. Are we reciprocating the same or what kind of action we are going to take? He dodged the answer and gave no indication or his government’s intention on reciprocation. He sidestepped questions about visa processing and repeated his call for the Indian government to do more to get to the bottom of the matter. As per reports Canada is weighing retaliation but has taken no decision yet.

The relation between the two countries have become sour after the Canadian Prime Minister leveled allegation that agents of the Indian government were involved in the killing of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar’s killing in Surrey.

On the other hand the Indian government has fumed at Canada for — in its view — sheltering Sikh separatists, including Nijjar, whom it called a terrorist.

Yesterday once again Justin Trudeau repeated that “as I said on Monday that there are credible reasons to believe that agents of Govt of India were involved in killing a Canadian citizen on Canadian soil. We call upon India to engage with to take this matter seriously and ensure justice in this matter and move forward.

When asked did Modi confirmed or denied these allegations, he said that” he had a “direct and frank” conversation with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the matter and has shared concerns with him.”

The growing feud already has resulted in the expulsion of diplomats from both Canada and India. It escalated Thursday when India stopped processing visitor visas in Canada.

On the other hand, The Financial Times reported late Thursday that U.S. President Joe Biden and other Five Eyes members (United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Canada and New Zealand, raised the killing with Modi directly during the recent G20 summit.

Today, CBC (Canadian Broadcasting Corporation) News published a story “Canada has Indian diplomats’ communications in bombshell murder probe: sources “claiming that “The Canadian government has amassed both human and signals intelligence in a months-long investigation of a Sikh activist’s death that has inflamed relations with India. That intelligence includes communications involving Indian officials themselves, including Indian diplomats present in Canada. The intelligence did not come solely from Canada. Some was provided by an unnamed ally in the Five Eyes intelligence alliance.”
