T12 Cricket ‘Takkar’-Patiala’s oldest schools MSSSP and YPS met at cricket ground to play a friendly cricket match

Modern Senior Secondary School, Patiala (MSSSP), organised a T12 Festival Cricket Match on 21 April, 2024, between the two oldest schools of Patiala — Modern Senior Secondary School and Yadavindra Public School. Both schools brought their ‘A’ teams to compete in what can best be described as a thrilling ‘takkar’( टक्कर ).
Modern School won the toss and elected to bat first. Aryan Yadav of Modern School scored a brilliant knock of 93 runs & also clinched a wicket. He was declared the ‘Player of the Match’. The partnership of Aryan Yadav & Sehaj Kohli scored a total of 158 runs without losing a single wicket set the stage for Modern School’s victory.
Further, Modern School bowlers; Gursimran Singh took 2 consecutive wickets by conceding 15 runs and Shamta Mandora also took 2 wickets at the beginning of the second innings, which was a breakthrough in the YPS batting.
She was declared the ‘Best Bowler of the Match’. The ‘Best Batsman of the Match’ was awarded to Robin Sarao of YPS.
The event was held on the Modern School grounds, and distinguished guests, alumni, students, and residents of Patiala city were treated to an exciting display of cricketing action.
