Teachers of all Technical Universities of Punjab are protesting the government’s failure to implement the new pay scale for faculty members. Despite numerous requests and meetings with the concerned ministry, departments and repeated assurances, the new pay scale has not been implemented to the faculty of technical universities.

While all government employees across the Punjab, including all other universities of Punjab, were granted the revised pay scale two years ago, faculty members of technical universities remain the only group excluded from this benefit. The delay in implementation has caused significant discontent among the teaching staff, who feel neglected and highly demoralized. It important to highlight that non-teaching staff of these universities has already received new pay scales.

The faculty of all government technical universities (around 290 teachers), demands the immediate implementation of the new pay scale. The teachers have expressed frustration over the government’s inaction despite several rounds of discussions and assurances from the ministry.

This protest on main gate of the university may serves as a powerful reminder of the injustice faced by the educators and the disregard for their contribution to the nation’s education system. The faculty stands united in their demand, urging the government to address this issue without further delay and provide them with the rightful pay structure that has been overdue for two years.
