Teej celebrated in Baba Zorawar Singh Fateh Singh School

The traditional festival of ‘Teej’ dedicated to the women emancipation was celebrated with fervor and gaiety at Baba Zorawar Singh Fateh Singh School Senior Secondary Public School, Fatehgarh Sahib.
The chief guest Pawanpreet Kaur Libra and special guests Jaswinder Kaur Walia, Samarbir Kaur Bajwa, Supreet Kaur, Paramjit Kaur, Mrinalini Singla and mothers of our tiny tots graced the occasion with their presence. The function commenced with the recitation of shabad ” Sawan Aya Re Sakhi”.
Hundreds of girl students, wearing traditional Punjabi dresses, danced to the tunes of traditional Punjabi music and recited Bolian. The ‘Gidha’ performance added to the colour as the overcast sky provided the canvass to the celebrations meant to welcome ‘Savana’ the rain month, with which the festival is associated. The traditional delicacies of Sawan Kheer and Pakode were served on the occasion and different stalls of eatables and attires also added to the occasion.
Jasnit Kaur of +2 Science was selected Miss Teej, Arshdeep Kaur of +2 Science was Ist Runner Up and Jasleen Kaur of +2 Science was 2nd Runner Up. Amongst the mothers Anju was selected Mrs. Teej, Pritpal Kaur was 1st runner up and Rajdeep Kaur was 2nd runner up.
