The festival of Teej was celebrated with great enthusiasm in Government Mohindra College Patiala.

Chief guest Dr. Harvinder Kaur, Dean Students Welfare, Punjabi University, Patiala, was welcomed by Principal Amarjit Singh, staff and students. To show a glimpse of a Punjabi village, phulkaris, chhaj, chatis, madhanis, colourful kites, and swings were included in the vibrant programme. Various competitions were also organised on the occasion.

The college students danced to the tune of dhol and boliyaan of giddha. Students performed various cultural activities like group dance, folk songs , gidha and street play-the nukkad natak.

Dr. Harvinder Kaur congratulated everyone on well conceived program celebrating the festival of Teej and extended her best wishes and blessings to all. Principal Amarjit Singh shared inspirational and motivating words with the students and sensitised them about Punjabi culture and further added that such cultural programmes were organised to keep the students attached to the Punjabi culture.

Staying close to their roots while searching for their wings to be successful citizens is of utmost importance for the youth. Rachna Bhardwaj, convener of the program thanked all members of the college family for their cooperation and untiring efforts in making the vibrant celebrations a huge success.
