To explore rich heritage of Patiala, Patialviz participated in big number in Patiala Heritage Walk

As part of the Patiala Heritage Festival 2022-2023 and to commemorate the completion of 260 years of existence of PATIALA, Patiala Foundation under its iHERITAGE project organised a heritage walk in collaboration with the district administration. Patiala heritage walk was flagged off by MLA Harmeet Singh Pathanmajra and Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sawhney from the Shahi Samadhan and progressed through the Haveliwala mohalla, Chatta Nanumal, Bartan Bazaar, Sappan wali Gali, Darshani Gate and finally culminated at the Qila Mubarak, Patiala.
The heritage walk was led by Ravee Singh Ahluwalia, Chief Executive Officer, of Patiala Foundation.
Harmeet Singh Pathanmajra praised the Patiala administration and said that this initiative of heritage walk by the district administration with the support of Patiala Foundation on the occasion of heritage festival is a commendable step. Pathanmajra said that the heritage of Patiala could not be preserved during the previous government, so all these heritage places will now be preserved by the Punjab government under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann.
The city of Patiala has historical significance and rich cultural heritage and the walk took the participants which included school children, youth and the general public through the various eras of history related to each heritage place. The District Administration has added sign boards with QR Codes at the Pause points en route to the Heritage Walk to make it easier for visitors to take quick know-how about the history of the particular site digitally. In the coming days, it would be possible to take virtual tours and a Digital Heritage walk shall be in offing. Ravee Singh Ahluwalia said that the heritage tours would continue under the iheritage project of the Patiala Foundation by establishing Heritage Clubs in schools.
