To restore power supply in flood affected areas, PSPCL stores to remain open during holidays-ETO

Punjab Power and Public Works Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO on Friday informed that the Punjab State Power Corporation Limited has decided to keep all its store offices open on this Saturday and Sunday for the purpose of restoring uninterrupted power supply in the flood affected areas of the state as soon as possible.

Disclosing this information in a press statement issued here, Power Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO said that this decision has been taken to ensure the uninterrupted supply of equipment and infrastructure like transformers, poles and cables etc. from these stores in a bid to resume the power supply in flood affected areas at the earliest.

The Power Minister further informed that the duty of senior Xen level officers has been assigned to monitor and ensuring the supply of material from stores of Powercom at Rajpura, Patran, Ropar, Khanna and Kapurthala. He said that apart from this, a Superintendent Engineer has been assigned the duty of ensuring the supply of goods in Mohali, Ropar and Khanna outlet stores in coordination with the distribution offices and stores offices.

The Power Minister said that the power supply will be restored immediately in the flood-affected areas as soon as the water level comes down. He said that ME Metering labs Verka, Batala, Gurdaspur, Jalandhar, Hoshiarpur, Guraya, Mandi Gobindgarh, Ludhiana Sangrur, Patiala, Ropar, Moga, Bathinda and Muktsar will also remain open on Saturday and Sunday.
