Punjab chief minister Charanjit Singh Channi is going to inaugurate five chairs at Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar.

Dr BR Ambedkar Chair

Sant Kabir Chair

Bhai Jiwan Singh/ Bhai Jaita Singh ji Chair

Makhan Shah Lubana Chair

Bhagwan Valmiki Chair

on December 6,2021 at 1;00 pm at Dashmesh Auditorium in the university campus.

“These academic chairs will be set up under the state government grant and developed as centres of research. These academic chairs will be set up at a cost of Rs 1.5 crore each. These are being set up with an objective to help in undertaking extensive research on these prominent personalities and to study their valuable contribution to society so as to enable the new generation to apprise them of the life and ideology of these great personalities” said Karamjeet Singh Kahlon, registrar of GNDU
