Patiala’s veteran journalist KS Dhaliwal, who died at the age of 66 , on January 15, 2020, after a brief illness, at Patiala left a vacuum in the field of journalism.
He studied in one of the prestigious and renowned public school of the region-YPS,Patiala. He did his masters from another prestigious university of the region Panjab University, Chandigarh. Later he did his M.Phil from HP University.
He worked with India’s leading newspaper Times of India and with Indian Express.
When Indian Express launched region’s first weekly newspaper Patiala News Line, in tabloid form in September 1996, he got the responsibility the coordinate it. Under his command, Patiala Newsline touched the new heights and changes the reader’s perception. In a short period Patiala Newsline become the household name, just because of his dedication, sincerity.
He gave opportunity to many youngsters , who wanted to taste the flavor of the journalism. He nurtured, polished the youngsters and later they made their niche in the field of journalism. Some of his trained journalist includes Jupinderjit Singh, Kanchan Vasdev, Vibhor Mohan, Priya Yadav, Sharat Verma, Guninder Sidhu and many more.
