“Today journalists’s biggest challenge is maintaining credibility, combating intimidations and threats”-Sood to DJMC students

As a part of celebrating ‘World Radio Day’, an interactive session on Opportunities and Challenges in Journalism was organized in the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication of Punjabi University.

In this Session, Aman Sood, The Tribune’s Bureau Chief Patiala & Principal Correspondent was the guest speaker who addressed the gathering of staff and students of the department and shared his experience in the industry.

Sood encouraged the students who want to join this profession saying that it is a very rewarding and interesting field and they can reach the top by mastering the techniques of journalism. He also discussed the modern-day challenges in Journalism like censorship, political advocacy and political pressure.

Sood said that today journalists’s biggest challenge is maintaining credibility and combating intimidations and threats.

Dr Nancy Davinder Kaur, Head of the department; Dr Happy Jeji, Associate Professor and Dr Amanpreet Randhawa expressed their gratitude to Aman Sood and felt that the session was very fruitful for the aspiring students.

Dr Nancy said that in future the department would organize more such sessions with students Questions were taken from the students and discussed elaborately to make the session more effective and interactive.
