Train Travel gets costlier; Indian Railways increases Fares

Indian Railways on Sunday announced a new fare structure that will come into effect from December 26, 2025. Under the new ticket pricing structure, passengers travelling more than 215 km in Ordinary Class will pay an additional 1 paisa per km, while those travelling in Mail/Express Non-AC and AC classes will pay 2 paise more per km.Journeys up to 215 km will remain unaffected, with no increase in ticket prices. As per the new rates, a passenger travelling 500 km in a Non-AC Mail or Express train will pay an additional Rs 10.
