TSPL celebrates Lohri with children from Chellanwali Govt School

Leaders and employees of Talwandi Sabo Power Limited (TSPL), the largest thermal power plant in Punjab, celebrated Lohri with over 300 children from Sr. Secondary School in Chehlanwali village of Mansa.

Lohri celebrations mark the beginning of the harvest season and celebrated with much gusto and enthusiasm in Punjab. TSPL’s leaders and employees were warmly greeted with a welcome song and mesmerizing performance by the students. In line with the Lohri tradition, TSPL CEO, senior leaders, volunteers along with school principal and staff made offerings to the bonfire and prayed for peace and prosperity of the area.

Enthralled by the cultural program and performance by the school students, Vikas Sharma CEO and WTD,TSPLaddressed the students and remarked, “I am extremely delighted to be a part of this celebration amidst young talents, which bring back memories of my school days. I assure you full support on behalf of TSPL to transform this school into a model school and share our experiences and knowledge with the students to shape their future and career.”

Lauding TSPL’s efforts in organizing and volunteering for the Lohri celebration, Rajendra Singh, Principal, Sr. Secondary School, Chehlanwali village said, “I am thankful to TSPL volunteers for their efforts and time for making this day so special for children. We are humbled with TSPL’s gesture for volunteering to transform the lives of students. We look forward to long term association and participation of TSPL volunteers in our school.”

The program culminated with distribution of Lohri packets prepared by volunteers amongst the children.
