Employees of Talwandi Sabo Power Limited (TSPL) and its business partner, STEAG Energy Services Pvt. Ltd., came together to help over 300 students from marginal families maintain continuity of studies amid the pandemic. In light of COVID-19 disrupting children’s education, government schoolteachers in Punjab have been reaching out to their students through virtual classes. However, students from families hard-hit by the pandemic are disadvantaged due to financial duress or lack of quality internet connection.

Moved by their distress, employees of TSPL and STEAG volunteered to provide stationery items and other essentials for students of Senior Secondary Govt. School, Chehlanwali Village, Mansa.

Vikas Sharma, CEO and WTD, TSPL, lauded the gesture of the volunteers and said, “I am extremely moved to see the spirit of kindness amongst the employees and business partners and their passion to serve the community. We are committed to the prosperity and well-being of the society at large and shall continue to strive for ensuring a sustainable, prosperous and progressive community.”

The school’s Principal, Rajendra Singh expressed his gratitude towards the volunteers and said, “TSPL has always supported us in times of need. We are thankful to the volunteers for their kind gesture and support to our students during these trying times.”
