Budha Dal Public School, Patiala organized the 3rd edition of Budha Dal Model United Nation (BDMUN) .
Around 190 students participated enthusiastically in this simulating conference which saw 4 committees namely, General Assembly, United Nation Human Rights Council, Security Council and All India Political Party Meet.
The United Nation General Assembly discussed on the agenda of discussion on the Nuclear proliferation and threat of Nuclear war in the Indian subcontinent and East Asia while the United Nation Human Rights Council discussed on Protection of Human Rights during the armed conflict with special emphasis on women, the Security Council held its deliberations on International Recognition and Independence of states while All India Political Party held its discussion on Feasibility of Criminalisation of Marital Rape in India.
The two day event concluded with the closing ceremony in which the delegates who performed exceedingly well were awarded. The Secretary General’s Best Delegate Award of Rs. 5000 was shared by Khush Aalam & Shubham Manchanda from the UNGA. Trophies were given for High Commendation, Special Mention, Best Photographer, Best Writer & Best Caricaturist. The best participating school trophy was won by Yadvindra Public School, Patiala.
The Secretariat and Executive Board members were also felicitated for their support and contribution. Everyone expressed their satisfaction with this learning experience and hoped to see the similar event next year.
