Two day bank strike from today; next three days strike from March 11

On the Call given by United Forum of Bank Unions (AIBEA-AIBOC-NCBE-AIBOA-BEFI-INBEF-INBOC-NOBW- and NOBO) protest demonstration was held by the Bank Employees and Officers in front of Punjab & Sindh Bank, Main Branch, Mall Road, Patiala in support of their demands of Wage Settlement which is overdue since 1st November 2017. Over ten Lac Officers and Workmen will go on two days strike commencing from 31st January to 1st February 2020.
Addressing the rally S.K Gautam, General Secretary, Punjab Bank Employees’ Federation told that on the intervention of Chief Labour Commissioner it was suggested to IBA to negotiate with Unions before Strike. On this meeting was convened today by IBA with unions. Due to adamant attitude of IBA meeting ended in deadlock hence strike stands. Striking employees are demanding Wage Revision Settlement at 20% hike on Pay slip components with adequate loading thereof, 5 Day Banking, Merger of Special Allowance with Basic Pay, Scrap New Pension Scheme (NPS), Updation of Pension, Improvement in Family Pension, Allocation to Staff Welfare Fund based on Operating Profits, Exemption from Income Tax on retiral benefits without ceiling, Uniform definition of Business Hours, Lunch Hour, etc. in Branches, Introduction of Leave Bank, Defined Working Hours for Officers, Equal wage for equal work for contract employees/Business Correspondents.
Com Yadvinder Gupta, Secretary, PBEF, Patiala told that next three days strike will be held on 11th, 12th, and 13th March, 2020 (3 days) and Indefinite strike from 1st April, 2020.

Razak Mohammad including other prominent Leaders.
