The session proceeded with Keynote Speeches from esteemed speakers, including Dr. Satbir Singh Khalsa, Associate Professor at Harvard Medical School, USA, who presented on the topic “Enhancing Sports Performance with Yoga by Optimizing Sleep: The Science and Research Evidence” Dr. Jaideep Arya, Secretary General of Yogasana Bharat and World Yogasana Chairman, who addressed “The Role of Yogasana, Pranayama, and Dhyana in Enhancing Athlete Performance”; and Dr. Sanjay Malpani, Vice President of World Yogasana, who spoke on “How to Prepare Athletes for Yogasana Sports”.
Panel discussions were subsequently held on the following topics: “Benefits of Yoga for All Sports,” “The Role of Therapeutic Yoga in Sports Rehabilitation and Athlete Recovery and “Herbal Supplements in Athletic Performance: Benefits, Risks, and Scientific Perspectives.” These sessions featured contributions from various distinguished speakers, including Prof. Dr M.L Kamlesh Former Principal, Lakshmibai National College of Physical Education (LNCPE), Rani Rampal, Padma Shri, Former Captain of the Indian Women’s Hockey Team; Mariam Mohammed Marx, Yoga Teacher from Tanzania, Dr. Wazir Singh, HPD, Athletics, SAI Headquarters Aradhana Sharma, Chief Nutritionist for the Indian Olympic Association (IOA), Paris 2024, and Founder of Nutrigetic Wellness and Dr. Manmath M. Gharot, Director of The Lonavla Yoga Institute (India).
Poster presentations on topics such as “Yoga Integration with Sports Biomechanics, Strength & Conditioning”were also prominently featured at the conference. Vineet Kumar, DDG/SED of SAI NSNIS, had the honor of distributing prizes and certificates to the participants and winners of the poster presentations, recognizing their outstanding contribution.
