M M Modi College, Patiala organized UGC sponsored, one-day faculty development programme.
This programme was subject-centred and therefore each department invited the subject experts who shared their insights on the relevant issues of their respective areas. Principal Dr. Khushvinder Kumar welcomed the speakers and said that such programmes are designed to both deepen and widen the knowledge of the faculty. He congratulated all the departments for inviting the best speakers in their subjects and making the programme successful.
Dr. Satinder Singh, former Pro-Vice Chancellor, GNDU, Amritsar spoke on ‘Punjabi Adhiapan: Viharik Chunotiyan’, Dr. Swaraj Raj, Dean Faculty of Languages, Guru Granth Sahib World University, Fatehgarh Sahib talked about ‘Philosophical Discourse on ‘Existentialism’, Dr. H. S. Bhatti Dept. of Sociology, Punjabi University, Patiala spoke on ‘Crisis of Relationships in Academic Institutes’, Dr. Keya Dharamvir, Dept. of Physics, Panjab University, Chandigarh talked about ‘Raman’s Work and his Institutions’, Dr. Vikas Bist, Dept. of Mathematics, Panjab University, Chandigarh spoke on ‘The Number Pie (p)’, Dr. Manish Kumar Jindal, Department of Computer Science and Applications, Panjab University Regional Centre, Mukatsar discussed about ‘Captcha: A view from Document Analysis and Recognition’, Dr. Balvir Kumar, Simar Biotech, Patiala spoke about ‘Entrepreneurship’, Prof. Amardev Singh, EDIC Department, NITTTR, Chandigarh talked about ‘Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs)’.
Mementoes were presented to the speakers on the occasion. Vice Principal Prof. Nirmal Singh conducted the stage and presented the vote of thanks. All the faculty members attended the programme and participated enthusiastically to discuss subject related issues
