Umranagal’s BA degree through correspondence now under SIT lens

It seems that problems are not ending for suspended Inspector General of Punjab Police Paramraj Singh Umranangal. Days after releasing from Patiala Central jail, he is now under fresh probe.Now SIT constituted by Punjab Govt. is probing the authenticity of his academic qualifications- BA degree.

Paramraj Singh Umranangal a native of Umra Nangal Village in Rayya Tehsil in Amritsar District did his BA thru Distance Education department (Correspondence Course) of Punjabi University Patiala. It is learnt that Paramraj Singh Umranangal completed his BA in 1986.

As per sources, SIT is probing the authenticity his BA degree that he did from Punjabi University through Distance Education department came to Punjabi University and carried out an investigation and asked the university officials to submit the complete details of his academic record. While confirming the investigation and , Punjabi University Registrar Manjeet Singh Nijjar said “we provided all the details to the officials and extended full cooperation to them” .

Inspector General (IG) of police Paramraj Singh Umranangal, a 1995-batch IPS officer remained in controversies ever since he was inducted into the Punjab Police as deputy superintendent of police (DSP) in 1987 on compassionate grounds.
