Uncertainty looms over Punjab budget session as once again Punjab guv- govt tussle back in spotlight

To seek governor’s permission to hold budget session from March 3 to March 24, a letter seeking Governor’s approval was sent to him by the Punjab government.
Today, Punjab Governor Banwarilal Purohit has sent a letter to the Punjab chief minister Bhagwant Mann and said that he will decide on allowing the Budget session of the Punjab government on March 3, only after having received a legal opinion on the tweets and letters of the CM.
However, the Governor, in his latest letter written to Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Thursday referred to the CM’s previous letter and tweet as “patently unconstitutional but extremely derogatory”. “Therefore, I am compelled to take legal advice on this issue. Only after getting legal advice I will take a decision on your request,” he said.
In the letter, Governor Purohit has reproduced the tweets and letter sent by CM Mann on February 13 and 14, in response to his letter.
