Union Bank of India hosts Mega MSME outreach camp in Bathinda at Hotel Sapphire: A Government of India Initiative

Union Bank of India organized a Mega MSME (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises) Outreach Camp in Bathinda, bringing together branch heads, MSME entrepreneur / customers of Bathinda Region, and key stakeholders in line with the Government of India’s initiatives to boost the growth and sustainability of the MSME sector. The event aimed to provide a platform for awareness among MSME entrepreneur / customersto discuss challenges, explore new opportunities, and leverage government schemes to enhance their growth potential.
The Mega MSME Outreach Campwas attended by prominent MSME entrepreneurs, Union Bank officials and local MSME representative. The key focus of the event was to highlight various schemes and support measures under the government’s ‘Make in India’ and ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ initiatives, designed to uplift small and medium businesses across the country.
Speaking at the event, H.K. Das, General Manager, RUSU& FI, and Ashish Suwalka, Regional Head Bathinda, Union Bank of India, emphasized the role of MSMEs in driving India’s economic growth, particularly in rural areas. He said, “Union Bank of India is committed to support the MSME sector by providing customized financial solutions, enabling them to expand, modernize, and become more competitive in the global market.”
The session also included presentations on the government’s support schemes, including the Credit Guarantee Fund Trust for Micro and Small Enterprises (CGTMSE) and the Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana (PMMY), which provide accessible financial assistance to MSMEs. The meet facilitated in-depth discussions on the challenges faced by local businesses, such as access to finance, digitization, scaling operations, and how Union Bank’s initiatives can help to mitigate these issues.
A local Bathinda MSME customer, expressed his gratitude, saying, “This initiative by Union Bank has provided valuable insights and avenues to improve our business operations. It was a great opportunity to interact with experts and fellow entrepreneurs and learn about new government schemes that can help us grow.”
