Ustad Alla Rakha Sangeet Sammelan organised by Mata Gujri College

With the collaboration of Sangeet Natak Academy, New Delhi, Puratan Kala Punjab Gharana Tabla Vadan Sikhya Kender Academy organized the Ustad Alla Rakha Sangeet Sammelan in the Mata Gujri College premises.
In this event, various artists from various fields performed beautifully and mesmerized the viewers. Ustad Dilshad Khan spell bounded the audience with his Sarangi Solo. Ragjot Singh, Surjit Singh, Ashupreet Kaur, Anupreet, Pooja Preet, Dipesh Verma, Mukta Raste, Seema Rani, and Shikhar Naad Qureshi also performed in this function. The president of the society and the disciple of Ustad Alla Rakha Khan Sahib, Kulwinder Singh said that Ustad Alla Rakha has raised the bar of tabla in this society and this Sangeet Sammelan is dedicated to him.
Director Principal of the college, Dr. Kashmir Singh, said that this Sammelan not only provides a platform to the artists, but also connects the young generation with Indian sangeet and their legacy.
The special guests of this function were Dr. Jagmohan Sharma- Associate Professor of Music Department of G.C.G College, Patiala, Manjit Kaur- Former Founder Dean of Ishmeet Singh Music Institute, Ludhiana and Dr. Charan Kamal Singh- Director Ishmeet Singh Music Institute, Ludhiana. During this event, Pt. Surinder Kumar Dutta- Disciple of Bharat Ratna Late Pt. Ravi Shankar, was awarded with the Punjab Gharana Sangeet Award for his lifetime achievements. Prof. Anupreet Singh Tiwana- Dean, Cultural Affairs and Lokesh Sharma- Assistant Professor, Govt. Girls College, Gurugram conducted the stage well.
