Veer Baal Divas: A devotional Vaar dedicated to martyrdom of Mata Gujri Ji and Chhote Sahibzade released at MRSPTU…

The whole world is remembering the bravery and sacrifice of Mata Gujri Ji and Chhote Sahibzade on day of Veer Baal Divas. To mark this day, a Vaar (spiritually devotional song) “Injh Na Samjhi Subeyaa Assi Nickre Nickre Baal Haan” composed and sung by one of the senior faculty member Prof. Avtar Singh Buttar of Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University (MRS-PTU), Bathinda was released at an impressive ceremony here on Monday.

The Vaar was released by University, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Buta Singh Sidhu during a special function at the university auditorium. Before the release of the Vaar, a prayer (Ardaas) was offered by Granthi Singh Ji. Registrar, Dr. Gurinder Pal Singh Brar welcomed the dignitaries and gave brief history of Sikhism.

While speaking on the occasion, Prof. Sidhu elaborated the bravery and ideals of Mata Gujri Ji, Guru Gobind Singh Ji and four Sahibzadas that gives strength to millions of people. He added, they never bowed to injustice and envisioned a world that is inclusive and harmonious. He spoke about the life and teachings of the Guru Gobind Singh Ji.

While congratulating Prof. Avtar Singh Buttar on this unique initiative, Prof. Sidhu said that such religious songs are a source of inspiration for our new generation for religious, spiritual and communal unity.

Associate Dean (Administration), Dr. Gurpreet Singh Bath appreciated the effort of Dr. Buttar and Assistant Professor Er. Sukhjinder Singh.

In this Vaar, Prof. Avtar Singh Buttar depicted the courage of Mata Gujri Ji and Chhote Sahibzade. The lyrics and the background music of this religious Vaar were also prepared by him. This Vaar dedicated to Mata Gujri Ji, Sahibzada Baba Zorawar Singh Ji (9), and Sahibzada Baba Fateh Singh Ji (7), who attained martyrdom after being sealed alive in a wall by the order of Suba Sarhind. The great Sahibzades (younger sons of 10th Guru Gobind Singh Ji) preferred supreme sacrifice death instead of deviating from the noble principals of Sikh Dharm.

It is worthwhile to mention that in this religious devotional vaar, important topics related to the contribution of Baba Kuma Maski, Bhai Moti Ram Mehra Ji, Diwan Todar Mall Ji, the conversation of Chhote Sahibzade with Suba Sarhind based lyrics are also penned by Prof. Buttar. Er. Sukhjinder Singh added the video concept to the Vaar, by including various pictures of Sikh martyrdom tradition related to the   martyrdom of Guru Teg Bahadur Ji, Bhai Mati Daas Ji, Bhai  Sati Daas Ji, Bhai Diala Ji, Vadde Sahibjade Baba Ajit Singh Ji and Baba Jujhar Singh Ji, covering details up to the martyrdom of Chhote Sahibzade sealed into wall.Further, Dr. Buttar added that Dr. Dalveer Kaur and Dr. Gurjinder Singh from IKGPTU, Jalandhar given their services for text review of this Vaar.

On this occasion, Deans, Directors, HoDs, senior faculty members Dr. Bhupinder Pal Singh Dhot, Dr. Balwinder Singh Sidhu, Dr. Neeraj Gill, Dr. Rakesh Kumar Singla, Prof. Jyoti Rani, Prof. Mamta Kansal,  Harjinder Singh Sidhu and various faculty and staff members of MRSPTU and GZSCCET family were also present there.
