Voter friendly web portal ‘Elections Patiala’ developed by administration in collaboration with Thapar students

Team of Returning Officer l3-Patiala has developed the ‘Elections Patiala’ Portal in collaboration with the students of the Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology.

Divulging the details Showkat Ahmad Parray Deputy Commissioner said that the portal has been designed to cater to the needs of both the voters and the election staff especially

In view of current heat wave situation in Punjab. The voters can see basic information about their booths like name of BLO, ARO, DSP, emergency medical and fire brigade services.

Apart from this, they can see the queue status in real time at their respective booths and can also use the portal to send the request for any special assistance needed by them such as transportation, wheelchair etc on the poll day.

Additionally, the portal also allows the polling party staff and the BLOs to access various details such as members of the polling party, police counterparts deputed on the booth, Dispatch and Receipt centre details, Micro – Observers details, facilities like food, bedding arrangements etc .

It is also equipped to enable the AROs to monitor the pending Assistance requests, pending queue status updation at the booths so as to ensure proper facilitation to the voters. The portal was launched by General Observer Om Prakash Bakoria and Expenditure Observer Meetu Aggarwal at a function at Thapar Institute on May 29,2024.
