Wildlife awareness program held at Govt Mohindra College, Patiala

A two-day wildlife awareness program held on 02 March and 04 March 2024 organized to commemorate World Wildlife Day 2024 by Department of Zoology in collaboration with Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), Govt Mohindra College, Patiala commenced today.

The event was inaugurated by College Principal Prof Amarjit Singh. Principal stated that such endeavours are commendable as it enhances the knowledge of students in current studies and understanding to conserve the wildlife. An extension lecture was delivered by Dr Onkar Singh Brraich on “Aquatic Wildlife, Threats and Conservation Measures”. About 150 students of B.Sc Medical and B.Sc Biotechnology participated in this, and about another 35 students participated in poster making competition.

The convener of this awareness program Dr. Lakhwinder Kaur stated that such programs help to create more interest in studies of wildlife and also develop an association with the fauna and flora of surroundings. On this occasion, Prof. Rachna Bhardwaj, Prof Kanwaljit Kaur, Prof Rommy Garg, Prof Gagandeep Cheema, Prof. Navneet Kaur, Prof. Harwinder Kaur, Prof. Jyoti Saini and Prof. Taranpreet Kaur were also present.
